4. Paddy Procurement: Paddy procurement for the 2023-24 kharif season occurred between November 1 and February 4. During this period, approximately 145 lakh MT (metric tons) of paddy were procured from over 2.4 million farmers at the minimum support price (MSP).
5. Minimum Support Price (MSP): The MSP for common grade paddy was ₹2183 per quintal, while Grade A paddy commanded ₹2203 per quintal.
6. Input Assistance: Farmers were provided with input assistance equivalent to the difference between the MSP and the market price. This assistance amounted to ₹917 per quintal.
7. Payment Disbursement: Among the farmers who sold paddy during the 2023-24 kharif season at MSP, 2.472 million received payments totaling ₹13,289 crore as the difference amount. Additionally, over ₹31 crore was paid to 2,829 paddy seed-producing farmers through the seed corporation.
8. Outstanding Paddy Bonus: The state government also distributed an outstanding paddy bonus totaling ₹3,716 crore for the years 2014-15 and 2015-16. This bonus was disbursed to more than 1.3 million farmers on the occasion of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday in December 2023. ( Krishak Unnati )

Farmers who sold their paddy at MSP received an additional input assistance of ₹917 per quintal, which amounted to a total disbursement of ₹13,289 crore to 2.472 million farmers.
Furthermore, the state government honored former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday in December 2023 by distributing an outstanding paddy bonus amounting to ₹3,716 crore. This bonus was for the years 2014-15 and 2015-16 and was provided to more than 1.3 million farmers as a gesture of recognition and support for their contributions to agriculture. Additionally, over 2,800 paddy seed-producing farmers received more than ₹31 crore through the seed corporation.
