Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s extensive campaign tour includes visits to 12 states over the span of 10 days, culminating in Gurugram, Haryana, on March 11. During this visit, he is slated to launch 112 National Highway projects across India, amounting to approximately ₹1 lakh crore in total investment.
One of the significant inaugurations is the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway, which spans 19 kilometers and features 8 lanes. This project, costing around ₹4,100 crore, comprises two packages: the Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and the Basai ROB to Kherki Daula. The expressway aims to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity between Delhi and Gurugram on NH-48. Additionally, it will provide direct access to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and the Gurugram Bypass.
PM Modi emphasized the importance of these infrastructure developments, highlighting their role in bolstering the National Highway network and stimulating job creation, trade, and economic growth nationwide.
In addition to the Dwarka Expressway, other key projects to be inaugurated by PM Modi include:
1. The Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) in Delhi, spanning 9.6 kilometers with six lanes, linking Nangloi-Najafgarh Road to Sector 24 Dwarka.
2. Lucknow Ring Road in Uttar Pradesh, consisting of three packages with a combined cost of about ₹4,600 crores.
3. NH16’s Anandapuram-Pendurthi-Anakapalli section in Andhra Pradesh, developed at a cost of approximately ₹2,950 crores.
4. NH-21’s Kiratpur to Nerchowk section in Himachal Pradesh, valued at around ₹3,400 crores.
5. Dobaspet-Heskote section in Karnataka, comprising two packages with a total investment of ₹2,750 crores.
6. Additionally, 42 other projects across various states, totaling ₹20,500 crores, are part of the inauguration agenda.
Furthermore, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for several National Highway projects, including:
1. Bengaluru-Kadappa-Vijayawada Expressway in Andhra Pradesh, featuring 14 packages valued at ₹14,000 crores.
2. Belgaum-Hungund-Raichur Section of NH-748A in Karnataka, encompassing six packages with a combined investment of ₹8,000 crores.
3. Shamli-Ambala Highway in Haryana, consisting of three packages worth ₹4,900 crores.
4. Amritsar-Bathinda corridor in Punjab, with two packages totaling ₹3,800 crores.
5. Additionally, 39 other projects across India, amounting to ₹32,700 crores, will have their foundation stones laid during this event.
These initiatives signify the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure connectivity and promoting economic development across the country.
