Developed by Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), this dedicated coal corridor spans over 44.37 km and features six intermediate stations. With a substantial investment of Rs 894 crore, this project is set to enhance coal evacuation capacity by facilitating the transport of 100 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of coal from existing and upcoming mining projects. The initiative aims to bolster both present and future commercial blocks, thereby contributing to the nation’s energy security.

First-Mile Connectivity: North Urimari Coal Handling Plant

In alignment with the PM Gatishakti Master Plan, another significant inauguration is the North Urimari Coal Handling Plant. This state-of-the-art facility, with an investment of Rs 292 crore, focuses on improving first-mile connectivity within the coal sector. Boasting a coal dispatch capacity of 7.5 MTPA, alongside ample storage and silo bunker capacity, this plant is poised to streamline coal dispatch operations.
