Enhancing Connectivity: Vande Bharat Train Network Expands Across India
The Vande Bharat train network in India is set to undergo significant expansion, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating 10 new trains across various routes in the country. This development marks a milestone as the total number of operational Vande Bhart trains will surpass the half-century mark, with 51 trains operating on 45 routes.
New Train Inaugurations:
1. Lucknow-Dehradun Vande Bharat
2. Patna-Lucknow
3. New Jalpaiguri-Patna
4. Puri-Visakhapatnam
5. Kalaburagi–Bengaluru
6. Ranchi-Varanasi
7. Khajuraho-Delhi
8. Ahmedabad-Mumbai (Second Train)
9. Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam (Second Train)
10. Mysuru-Chennai (Second Train)
Extension of Existing Routes:
– Ahmedabad-Jamnagar Vande Bharat extended till Dwarka
– Ajmer-Delhi train extended till Chandigarh
– Gorakhpur-Lucknow extended till Prayagraj
– Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod Vande Bhart extended till Mangaluru

– Katra-New Delhi (Second Train)
– Amritsar-Delhi
– Coimbatore-Bangalore
– Mangalore-Madgaon
– Jalna-Mumbai
– Ayodhya-Delhi

New Train Inaugurations:
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 10 new Vande trains across different routes.
- These routes include Lucknow-Dehradun, Patna-Lucknow, New Jalpaiguri-Patna, Puri-Visakhapatnam, Kalaburagi–Bengaluru, Ranchi-Varanasi, Khajuraho-Delhi, Ahmedabad-Mumbai, Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam, and Mysuru-Chennai.
Extension of Existing Routes:
- Four existing Vande trains will see extensions in their routes:
- Ahmedabad-Jamnagar extended till Dwarka.
- Ajmer-Delhi extended till Chandigarh.
- Gorakhpur-Lucknow extended till Prayagraj.
- Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod extended till Mangaluru.
Total Number and Routes:
- With the inauguration of these new trains, the total count of Vande Bharat trains operating in the country will reach 51.
- These trains will serve 45 different routes across India.
Duplication of Routes:
- Several routes have more than one Vande Bharat train operating between the same destinations.
- Notably, there are two trains each connecting Delhi and Katra, Delhi and Varanasi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad, Mysuru and Chennai, and Kasaragod and Thiruvananthapuram.
- Visakhapatnam–Secunderabad will now join the list of destinations with two Vande Bharat trains.
– Six routes now boast two Vande Bharat trains each, including Delhi-Katra, Delhi-Varanasi, Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Mysuru-Chennai, and Kasaragod–Thiruvananthapuram.
– Visakhapatnam–Secunderabad will join the list of destinations with two Bharat trains.
– Delhi emerges as the city with the most Vande trains, with 10 trains serving as the ultimate destination.
– Mumbai will witness the addition of two Vande_Bharat trains operating till Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
– Chennai will see the introduction of a second Bharat train to Mysuru.
