In September 2023, Aston Martin, the renowned British luxury car manufacturer, introduced its latest GT car, the DB12, to the Indian market. Priced at ₹4.59 crore, this high-performance vehicle quickly found its first owner in India – Deepinder Goyal, the CEO of Zomato, one of India’s leading online food delivery platforms.
Images of Deepinder Goyal’s newly acquired Aston Martin DB12 were shared by ‘Automobili Ardent India’ on Instagram, showcasing the vehicle’s elegance in Satin Aston Martin Racing Green. This particular model boasts striking 21-inch alloy wheels with a diamond-cut finish, adding to its allure.
Under the hood, the Aston Martin DB12 is equipped with a potent 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine sourced from Mercedes-Benz. This engine generates an impressive power output of around 680 bhp (brake horsepower) and a torque of 800 Nm (Newton-meters). The powertrain is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, ensuring a thrilling driving experience.
The DB12 is heralded as the successor to the popular Aston Martin DB11 GT, with Aston Martin claiming that the DB12 is 80 percent brand new compared to its predecessor.
Deepinder Goyal’s affinity for luxury cars, particularly sports cars, is well-known. Former Shark Tank India judge and former BharatPe founder, Ashneer Grover, revealed in a podcast that Goyal has a penchant for acquiring sports cars following each round of funding for Zomato. Grover mentioned, “I am passionate about cars and it’s not just me, it’s everyone. Jaise Zomato ka founder hain Deepinder, sabse zyada shauk usko tha. Jab bhi uska round raise hota tha uski nai sports car aa jati thi toh hum bade chidte the,” which translates to, “Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal was obsessed with cars. He would buy a sports car every time he got a round of funding, and we would get a bit annoyed because he would get to ride luxury cars.”
This latest addition to Goyal’s car collection, the Aston Martin DB12, undoubtedly reflects his passion for exquisite automobiles and further cements his reputation as a connoisseur of luxury vehicles.
