On February 4, tragedy struck when a transport from the Channarayapatna Warehouse of the Hassan Division, operating on the Bangalore-Dharmasthala route, met with an accident while negotiating a bend near Bhage, Sakleshpur. The accident resulted in the unfortunate demise of G N Amruth, aged 34, a passenger who lost his life on the spot.
In response to this heartbreaking incident, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) took swift action to provide assistance and support to the family of the deceased. Today, the father of the late G D Nagaraj has been granted a compensation of ₹10 lakh and offered reassurance during this difficult time. The Transport Minister emphasized that accidents such as these inflict immense loss on families and coping with such tragedies is incredibly challenging. As a gesture of accountability, the corporation has introduced various measures to enhance safety, including providing canteen jars to night shift drivers for storing coffee, tea, and hot water, thereby ensuring their alertness and well-being during duty hours.
