Oppo unveiled its highly anticipated Reno 12 series in India on July 12th. The brand has been hinting at the inclusion of advanced AI capabilities in these smartphones. Let’s delve into the details of the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro models.
Oppo has recently unveiled its flagship Reno 12 series in the global market, which includes the Oppo Reno 12 5G and the Reno 12 Pro 5G smartphones. After the global launch, Oppo has confirmed that these smartphones will be making their debut in India. The company has officially announced that the Reno 12 series will be launched in India on July 12.
Our team has been evaluating the Pro model for slightly more than a week, and we are set to unveil our comprehensive analysis of the device upon its release date. However, one aspect we can discuss about the smartphone is its design. The variant we have features an unusual brown color with a predominantly shimmery-matte finish and a glossy bottom.
The arrangement of the cameras is vertical, with three cameras in total. However, the standout feature of the Oppo Reno 12 Pro’s design is its sleek and lightweight build. Despite its large 6.7-inch screen, the Reno 12 Pro is remarkably easy to carry and use single-handedly in most situations.
In addition to its sleek design, the Reno 12 series offers a range of premium features, including a 50-megapixel triple camera setup, a 5,000mAh battery, and 80W fast charging support. Nevertheless, the most impressive aspect of the series is its advanced AI capabilities.
Oppo announced that the Reno 12 series will come equipped with various AI capabilities such as AI Best Face, AI Eraser 2.0, AI Studio, AI Summary, and AI Clear Face. The company highlights the significant role that AI will have in the performance of the Reno 12 series.
Oppo has hinted at a standout feature for the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro, known as BeaconLink technology. This innovative technology guarantees dependable communication even in the event of network disruptions, allowing for smooth one-to-one voice calls over Bluetooth, similar to a walkie-talkie in areas with no network coverage.

Battery Life and Charging
The Reno 12 series will come equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and 80W SuperVOOC Flash Charge support, in addition to its AI features. Oppo states that this innovative technology enables the battery to reach a full charge from 0 percent in only 46 minutes. Furthermore, the smartphones will include Smart Charging technology, which adjusts based on user behavior to extend battery longevity.
Pricing and Availability
The anticipated price of the Oppo Reno 12 series in India will be disclosed during the unveiling event scheduled for July 12. By considering the pricing of the Chinese models, we can make an educated guess about the Indian pricing. The Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro were introduced in China at CNY 2,699 and CNY 3,399 respectively. This indicates that the smartphones could be priced somewhere between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000 in the Indian market.
Anticipated specifications for the Oppo Reno 12 series in India have not been confirmed by Oppo yet, but it is expected that they will be similar to the Chinese variants, with potential differences in the chipset. The Chinese version of the Oppo Reno 12 is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It operates on Android 14-based ColorOS 14.1 and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.
The Reno 12 showcases a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. It delivers a pixel density of 394 PPI and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, all protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and supporting HDR10+.
Regarding its camera setup, the Reno 12 comes with a 50-megapixel Sony LYT600 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro unit. The front camera boasts 32 MP with an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus.
