High Court won’t engage PIL looking for CBI or SIT test into Sandeshkhali rape

The High Court on Monday would not engage public premium prosecution (PIL) looking for Focal Department of Examination (CBI) or SIT test into the case relating to supposed rape cases in West Bengal’s Sandeshkhali.

The peak court said that the high court has proactively taken suo moto cognisance of the issue.

A seat of judges BV Nagarathna and Augustine George Masih said, “HC is seized of the matter. This can’t be a double discussion hearing. Allow us to see what alleviation the HC awards.”

Alakh Alok Srivastava, the legal counselor, who moved the PIL, told ANI,”In PIL documented in High Court on Sandheshkhali occurrence, the court wouldn’t accept discernment of the matter as a comparative matter is forthcoming under the watchful eye of Calcutta High Court. SC has requested that I record an application in Calcutta HC.”

Sandeshkhali, a town in North 24 Parganas region of Bengal, has been seeing gigantic fights over claims of sexual maltreatment of ladies by a nearby TMC pioneer Shah Jahan Sheik and his allies.

A few ladies have blamed Sheik and his allies for land snatch and rape.

The TMC is fleeing since a horde, supposedly connected to him, went after Requirement Directorate authorities who had gone to look through his premises regarding a debasement case.

The High Court request comes on a day the Public Commission for Ladies (NCW) visited Sandeshkhali. “She (Mamata Banerjee) ought to leave and come here with practically no post, really at that time she will grasp the aggravation of the ladies here,” NCW director Rekha Sharma told correspondents.
